Why should you support Maddie’s Footprints?

Acadiana  residents are some of the most generous and supportive people around.  I have been in the nonprofit world for years now and I am still consistently amazed at how eager people here are to share their time and talents with causes they believe in. This is the main reason that Maddie’s Footprints has been able to donate over $800,000 to pay funeral and medical expenses for families who are dealing with miscarriage, still birth and infant loss in our first 10 years.

With a combination of daily donations by individuals and corporate sponsors of our events, we have been able to help well over 1500 Acadiana families to date.  Every penny raised here stays in Acadiana to offer financial as well as emotional support through support groups, mentorship programs, workshops and retreats.

We give families a soft place to land when they are going through the toughest time of their lives, and we surround them with other families who understand what they are feeling even before they say a word.

After moving to Maddie’s from a national nonprofit, I can say that I could not be happier to be here.  Maddie’s staff is passionate, hard working and dedicated to taking care of as many Acadiana families that we can.  

For anyone who has a loss, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Maddie’s Footprints for the support that you deserve.  Even if you choose not to take advantage of our financial support (in our 10 years, no one has ever been turned away, and all are helped regardless of income), please consider clicking on the “Programs” tab and join us at one of our support groups.  Even if your loss was years ago, and you have never had the opportunity to tell your baby’s story, here is your chance.  A new family is waiting for you.
